1888 TOURING BC SKIN
1888 is a versatile ski for everyday trekking on groomed tracks but also open and moderate terrain.
Reassuringly firm and responsive on the turn, the 1888 is a ski with a prominent wax pocket. Its light carbon and glass fibre-reinforced poplar wood core give it a stiffness perfect for extended outings on mountain plateaus or expeditions – even with a backpack or a sled in tow. Built with a 3/4 steel edge that secures a stable decent
The combination of high-cambered wax pocket, generous sidecut and Nordic rocker (early rise) offers grip, stability and agility on even the longest trips, while its makes it versatile enough for both groomed tracks and everything but the most difficult terrain.
The 1888 comes equipped with an integrated skin and SkinLock, ready for an X-Skin to be attached in an instant for steeper climbing. To make the most of the Åsnes X-Skin system, we recommend a X-Skin Mohair 45 mm for cold weather/moderate terrain; for wet snow, hard use and steep terrain, a 45 mm Synthetic X-Skin should do or a MIX Quality.
The name 1888 is to honor the first crossing of Fritjof Nasen in Greenland 1887 to 1888
